Stud Dogs  we are currently constructing this page, so please check back soon                                                  Go to the stud dogs

We have decided to advertise stud dogs on our website to help people who are thinking of breeding their bitch. The dogs that will appear will all be hip scored, and possibly Elbow scored and Eye tested as well (We Hope !!) We may from time to time provide details of dogs that have not yet been health tested but that are likely to be.
We will also be providing details of stud dogs from friends closely associated with the Kirkmarsh Kennels.

We would like to thank all our puppy owners who have taken the time and have gone to the expense of having their puppies health checked, THANK YOU.

Both dogs and bitches that are considered for breeding, must have good temperaments, dogs are better to be used about 2 to 3 years old, but if your dog is going well in some competition e.g. working tests, showing or other then it is best to wait until you have achieved in whatever sphere you are doing., (this of course is just our opinion).

Bitches are best bred after 2 years old, we prefer 2.5 to 3 years old, but again if it is doing well, you may not want to take the time out for breeding.

Bitches will have to be at least hip scored before mating. Also it is best to do a coefficient of in breeding on the pedigrees of the dog and the bitch; the stud dog owner will arrange this, to make sure that compatibility between the two are not to close (inbreeding).

Please remember, the dog or bitch that you have purchased, will hopefully have parents that have been HEALTH CHECKED, so the breeders have spent time and money on trying to breed healthy puppies to sell to you!

So help the breed by taking the time to do the health checks on your dog or bitch, it helps the breeders to see what is happening in the lines, and if it is a high hip score, you know not to breed with that dog or bitch.

The best time to have to health checks done for hips and elbows is when they are just over a year old.

Please contact the owners of these stud dogs for any enquiries.
